- Documentation of attaining at least a step 3 in the Oregon Registry.
- Ability to self-manage tasks, scheduled time and professionalism.
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish a plus
Major Job Duties:
- Participate in the implementation of the center’s curriculum through collaboration with teaching staff.
- Prepare the classroom as needed.
- Effectively communicate with Director, staff, volunteers, practicum students and parents in the classroom.
- Facilitate the operations of the classroom.
- Comply with Roots and Wings Child Development Staff Handbook of policies and procedures.
Minor Job Duties:
- Successfully capture child observations.
- Work with Head Teacher on tasks as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to stand for more than 4 hours at a time.
- Registration in the Oregon Center for Career Development in Child Care and Education at Step 3 or above, registration in the Oregon Registry On-line, current First Aid, CPR, Oregon State Abuse and Neglect, Food Handler Card, and Oregon Online Central Background Registry
- Completing “Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect” and “Introduction to Child Care Heath and Safety training” online classes through the State of Oregon Child Care Division
- Effective communication skills while working with staff, volunteers, practicum students and families.
- Effective classroom skills.
- Core qualities that reflect understanding of child development.
- Knowledge of Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP) and implementation of meaningful curriculum.
- Ability to work with mixed age groups (3-6), children with learning challenges, through team collaboration be able to contribute to planning and developing creative and meaningful curriculum activities that support children’s growth based on observation and other data collection in these focus areas; Cognitive, Physical, Social-Emotional, Language & Literacy, Aesthetic.

- Compensation and qualified positions will be based on Step level.
- Candidates will be expected to produce documentation of courses studied and credentials obtained at the time of interview as applicable.
